  • Course Description
  • The CPR+AED course (Public Access Defibrillator) combines both elements of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) into one complete course. It simplifies the process for the layperson to learn correct CPR techniques while effectively applying the AED, a device which can shock a dying heart rhythm back to life.

  • Course Objective
  • At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

    • • Understand the rescuer’s role and responsibility in the chain of survival
    • • Perform CPR for adult and infant casualty
    • • State the indications for use of AED
    • • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in using AED for cardiac arrest casualty
    • • Demonstrate ability for troubleshooting and housekeeping of AED

  • Duration: 0.5 day (4 hours)

  • A CPR+AED provider certificate will be awarded by Parkway College (valid for 2 years)
