Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Provider Course

Course Description
The AED provider course is to provide the participants with the knowledge and skills in performing AED according to the guidelines established by the National Resuscitation Council (NRC) Singapore.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Understand the rescuer's role and responsibility in the chain of
survival
• State the indications for use of AED.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills in using AED for cardiac arrest
victims.
• Demonstrate ability for troubleshooting and housekeeping of AED.

1. 1/2 day, total of 4 hours

Course Outline
• Concept of chain of survival
• Epidemology of cardiac arrest
• Theory of defibrillation
• AED + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures
Who Should Attend
• Healthcare providers
• Non healthcare providers who are identified to be AED providers
Certificate Awarded
• AED provider certificate which is valid for 2 years
* Accreditated by National Resuscitation Council, Singapore
