Course Description
The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care) Course is offered to Registered Nurse who wish to advance their career in critical care nursing. It aims to provide nurses with an opportunity to consolidate and extend their gained theoretical knowledge and improve competences in critical care nursing.
Course Objectives
• Demonstrate competency of practice expected of a critical care nurse
in various critical care setting.
• Demonstrate competencies required of a registered nurse, according to
Singapore Nursing Board’s Standards of Nursing Practice, and
Professional Ethics and Code of Conduct.
• Demonstrate good interpersonal, communication, critical thinking,
reflective and caring knowledge and skills to provide quality care in
areas of management of care outcomes and clinical reasoning guided by
evidence-based practice to critically ill patients from diverse
socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
• Demonstrate ability to respond promptly in emergency situations.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to own professional development.

Entry Requirements
To be eligible to apply for admission into the Advance Diploma in Nursing (Critical Care) course, applicants should be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board and need to present:
• Diploma in Nursing from a polytechnic in Singapore, or
• An equivalent local or international professional qualification
• At least 6 to 12 months of relevant specialty experience
• Letter or recommendation from sponsor or employer
