Course Description

The Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Perioperative) Course is offered to Registered Nurse who wish to advance their career in perioperative nursing. It aims to provide nurses with an opportunity to consolidate and extend their gained theoretical knowledge and improve competences in perioperative nursing.

Course Objectives

• Demonstrate competency of practice expected of a perioperative care nurse at advanced beginner level in perioperative environment
• Demonstrate competencies required of perioperative nurse, according to Singapore Nursing Board’s Standards of Nursing Practice, and Professional Ethics and Code of Conduct (SNB, 1 Aug 1999).
• Apply Knowledge of biological science, nursing science, behavioral science, and leadership for safe practice in perioperative environment
• Demonstrate good interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, reflective and caring knowledge and skills to provide quality care n areas of management of acre outcomes and clinical reasoning guided by evidence-based practice to perioperative patients.
• Demonstrate ability to contribute to own professional development.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible to apply for admission into the Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Perioperative) course, applicants should be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board and need to present.

• Diploma in Nursing from a polytechnic in Singapore, or
• And equivalent local or international professional qualification
• 6 to 12 months relevant specialty experience
• Letter or recommendation from sponsor or employer
