Basic Cardiac Life Support
(BCLS)
Course Description
This course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills for basic cardiac life support according to the guidelines established by the National Resuscitation Council (NRC), Singapore.
Course Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the rescuer's role in the chain of survival
- Activate the appropriate emergency response system
- Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adult and infant victims
- Relief foreign body airway obstruction in a conscious and unconscious adult and infant victim

- Adult one-man CPR
- Relief of foreign body airway obstruction in an adult-conscious and unconscious
- Infant CPR
- Relief of foreign body airway obstruction in an infant-conscious and unconscious
Who should Attend
- Healthcare Providers
- Non-Healthcare Providers who are identified to be BCLS providers
Certificate Awarded
BCLS certificate which is valid for 2 years

1 day (a total of 8 hours)
Course Assessment
Theory (Multiple Choice Questions) and practical tests (scenario-based)
