Nurses Day at Parkway College was celebrated on 7 Aug 2009 at our City Campus in Jalan Bukit Merah Tower 3 #02-05. This event was graced by about 150 students and staff and distinguished guests. It was marked by a welcome Address by Mrs Nellie Tang (Chief Executive Officer) and a speech by Professor Low Teck Seng (Guest of Honour). A major highlight of this celebration was the Top Achieving Awards presented to the 2 intake of students who achieved the Module Best Academic Performers and Roll of Honours. Other outstanding awards presented to selected students included Most Courteous Student, Most Caring Student, Best Groomed Student and Service from the Heart. A photo montage showcasing a memorable collection of photos of the students and staff over the year brought much cheer and laughter. This event was also showcased the students' performance, which included different songs and cultural dance performances. The cake cutting ceremony was done in solemn attention, singing National Anthem to honour Singapore National Day as well. Finally, this glorious event ended with a tea reception, featuring booths displaying student's projects and reflective journals from students. Group and teambuilding games were also introduced in the finale, bringing much fun and delight to the staff and students.

The monthly walk was initiated to inculcate a feeling of fitness as well as incorporate regular physical activity into our daily lives. It is also a unique opportunity to bond amongst us as well with our students. The walk is usually held on the last Friday of each month. Groups comprising staff members as well as students have visited places like Henderson waves, Mount Faber, Forest Walk & the Botanical Gardens. The walk usually lasts for about an hour.
In the long run, we plan further new activities to keep our students & staff physically fit. Our aim is to get more energetic & healthier & thus improve our quality of life.
