  • The Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills in performing AED according to the guidelines established by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC) .

     

  • Course Objectives
  • At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

    • Understand the rescuer’s role and responsibility in the chain of survival

    • State the indications for use of AED

    • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in using AED for cardiac arrest casualty

    • Demonstrate ability for troubleshooting and housekeeping of AED

  • Course Structure
  • Duration: 0.5 day (4 hours)

  • Course Outline
  • • Concept of chain of survival

    • Epidemology of cardiac arrest

    • Theory of defibrillation

    • AED + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures

  • Who Should Attend
  • • Healthcare providers who are identified to be AED providers

    • Participants must possess a valid BCLS provider certificate issued by a SRFAC accredited training centre

    *Please submit a scanned copy of the BCLS provider certificate during registration

  • Course Assessment
  • • Theory (multiple choice questions)

    • Practical tests (scenario-based)

  • Certificate Awarded
  • An AED provider certificate awarded by Parkway College (valid for 2 years)

    * Accreditated by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC)

  • Course Fee
  • Per participant: S$160.50
