  • The Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) course aims to provide participants with the knowledge and skills for basic cardiac life support according to the guidelines established by the Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC).

  • Course Objectives
  • At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

    • Understand the rescuer’s role and responsibility in the chain of survival

    • Activate the appropriate emergency response system

    • Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adult and infant casualty

    • Relief of choking in a conscious and unconscious adult and infant casualty

  • Duration: 1 day (8 hours)

  • Course Outline
  • • Adult one-man CPR

    • Relief of choking in an adult – conscious and unconscious

    • Infant CPR

    • Relief of choking in an infant – conscious and unconscious

  • Who Should Attend
  • • Healthcare providers

    • Non-healthcare providers who are identified to be BCLS providers

  • Course Assessment
  • • Theory (multiple choice questions)

    • Practical tests (scenario-based)

  • Certificate Awarded
  • A BCLS provider certificate will be awarded by Parkway College (valid for 2 years)

    * Accreditated by Singapore Resuscitation and First Aid Council (SRFAC)

  • Course Fee
  • Per participant: S$160.50             ( *W.E.F. 01 April 2018)
